A Truck Worth Winning

LGND Supply Co.’s 39TH High-Profile Giveaway

Everyone loves to win stuff—especially really cool (expensive) stuff. While the chances are much too slim for the majority of us to bank on striking it rich in the lottery or winning a huge jackpot in Vegas, there is still hope to be had for catching a windfall equally as exciting. Those who follow LGND Supply Co. must be aware of the amazing vehicle giveaways they have come to be known for. The vehicles being given away aren’t boring OEM condition cars and trucks—these are heavily modified rides that are major come ups to the enthusiasts who win them. LGND has given away 38 of their creations already, and we would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to number 39.

By the time this issue hits newsstands, the deadline to enter to win LGND’s 39th giveaway vehicle (appropriately named LGND39) will have ended, sadly. As much of a bummer as that may be, we’ll look at this story as a raising of awareness for future contests, which happen quite often. Now, not only will the winner of LGND39 receive the prize of the fully decked out 2022 Ford F-450 Limited Powerstroke truck that is valued at $90,000 on its own, but the lucky person will also receive a check for $50,000 on top of that to help cover taxes and other fees that go along with winning a truck of this magnitude. Those who read the fine print of these types of vehicle giveaways know that extra cash award is huge in not getting dinged when income tax season comes around.

Now, those who pay close attention to LGND’s giveaways might look at this truck and ask if it is the same exact one that was given away in the past (LGND10). The quick answer is no. The previous F-450 was a 2020 model, and this one here is a 2022 that was created to be an updated replica with a few changes to the suspension system, the interior, as well as the newer-style headlights, grille, and taillights that come standard from the factory now.

There are no expenses spared with these projects, designed and built in-house by The LAB (LGND Auto Boutique) in their brand new 27,000 sq-ft facility in New Haven, Connecticut. They put together quite a lavish pickup—lavish enough to safely assume that the winning person won’t see any reason to change a thing about it. The included mods are high dollar and labor intensive and are directly funded by proceeds from LGND’s sales of goods. When a company gives back to their own community, everybody wins.

To follow the winning recipe of the last Ford F-450 giveaway project, The LAB crew started the build by color-matching a bulk of the factory parts such as the headlights, taillights, accessory light housings, badges, and OEM power steps. While this process may seem like a simple feat, a lot of time and effort goes into choosing which parts would look best. To give the F-450’s bright white exterior far more illumination, Recon LED cab lights and a rear LED light strip under the tailgate have been added, as well as 20 of LGND’s own LED rock lights in the wheel wells and underneath the body for an exciting nighttime driving experience.

While it is nice for the build process to roll out right on schedule, COVID delayed the actual delivery of this 2022 F-450 model from the factory, and similar setbacks were encountered when ordering the components for the desired lift kit. While the first choices for certain products wouldn’t have been available to meet the project’s timeframe, PMF Suspension was able to deliver on a truly custom 8-inch+ King coilover kit that features a hand-fabricated frame cradle, boxed 4-link and traction bars, as well as front and rear diff covers and axle trusses. These components have been finished with white powdercoating as well as PMF’s own chrome powdercoated faceplates that give off a polished uniform appearance from all angles. The chassis system is adjustable, so the winning enthusiast will be able to dial in the ride height for a truly tailored fitment.

Taking a page out of The LAB’s previous F-450 build, the same set of 26×14 American Force wheels for the front and 26-inch dually wheels at the rear were dipped in Fury M/T tires. To set the front wheels out at just the right distance away from the hub, as well as separating the rear wheels far enough away from each other for an aggressive width, 2-inch billet spacers from Shifted Industries were utilized to ultimately get the job done. This rolling setup was just too good to not use again on this fresh F-450 giveaway.

Underneath the hood, the factory Power Stroke engine was outfitted with a full engine dress up package from No Limit Fab, as well as an aluminum coolant tank and battery box, along with a polished intake tube. There was just enough done to the engine bay to increase the curb appeal, and to use the same approach, the inside of the cab was left mostly stock, except for the crazy enclosure underneath the rear seats that houses 4 JL Audio 10W3 subwoofers and custom lighting for display purposes. With the upgraded two-tone blue and gray leather seats and the size of the infotainment screen from the factory, there really wasn’t a whole lot that needed to be changed up with the interior.

The LGND39 ’22 Ford F-450 was completed in October 2023—right on track to give away to one lucky winner that will be selected at the very beginning of December. While there were some speed bumps experienced along the way, the latest grand prize vehicle is ready to head out to its new home. LGND Supply Co. has once again delivered on yet another highly anticipated build that showcases some of the coolest components in the custom truck industry.

Keep your eyes peeled for the next contest giveaway vehicle from the crew that has damn near perfected the experience of giving away impressive custom vehicles.
